I was in a village in Epirus (West Greece), walking around with a local, when I finally found these unique buttons and bought them.

These silver chain buttons go with the regional female costume of Pogoni, Greece.
What’s special about this one is that every button has the shape of an eagle beak, a symbol of strength and deterrence. What’s even extraordinary is that as a collector myself, I’m lucky to own this costume and I’ve always wanted to complete it.
This Pogoni costume is paired with a silk headpiece that’s 2.20 metres long. It is in fact quite challenging to put on a headpiece like that and nowadays, they are rare to find.
I wanted to collect all the elements of this costume, I suppose it’s because it represents where my best friend is from and the fact that it has similar elements to the regional costume of my mum’s village in Greece!
Plus, I find it aesthetically pleasing.
