This is a handmade embroidered bag I just recently discovered. It was a few weeks ago when my grandma, whilst looking at a D&G ad in a magazine, said: “This is exactly like the one your mum and I made a few years ago”. By that, she meant 55 years ago! When I asked my mum, she said that she was around 7 years old when they made this bag. It was her final assignment for the home economics class.
They followed a pattern to make the embroidery and an artisan helped them add the closure. Even though I discovered this piece just a few weeks ago, it’s part of my family’s history and feels like it belongs to my past and personal memories too.
