Eleni Chasioti
Eleni Chasioti is a Greek-born, London-based writer, curator and fashion researcher with a background in Archaeology and Art History. She is passionate about Greek regional dress, immersive curatorial approaches and memory. Being trained in archaeological sites of Greece, followed by years of experience in a contemporary art gallery in Barcelona, Spain and a stint with the Centre for Fashion Curation (CfFC) at UAL in research and digital archiving, Eleni’s specialisation with material culture studies has been dynamic. With an intention to find the missing puzzles in her experiential mosaic of human history and biography, she began exploring fashion and clothes to access an informed view of the past and the future, autobiography and collective memory.
Her current research practice reflects her interdisciplinary methods in the curatorial world, from museum visits and academic texts to film, photography, and creative writing. Eleni holds a Master’s degree in Fashion Curation from the London College of Fashion, UAL.
Niyati Hirani
Niyati Hirani is an independent researcher, writer, consultant and curator with a trained eye in fashion display, underpinned by her specialisations in Indian textiles history, fashion styling and art direction. Through a fashion studies lens, Niyati employs material and visual culture, oral history, memory and social anthropology in the practices of archiving and storytelling. Her current research area is centred on retelling the academic narratives of trading history and migration through everyday clothes and textiles.
Previously, she worked on a special project with the Museum of Art & Photography, Bengaluru in partnership with Microsoft Arts & Heritage to produce an AI-based curatorial tool, where she was researching, digitising and writing about their South Asian textiles collection. Niyati holds a B.Des in Fashion Communication from the National Institute of Fashion Technology and a Master’s Degree in Fashion Curation from the London College of Fashion, UAL.
